[Our music] is an attempt to capture the notion of change that is taking place in the Indonesian arts. It is an exploration of how the traditional arts define a cultural milieu and whether they are able or not to deal with modern influences. The Soul of Indonesia also explores whether the mixing of traditional with modern is capable of meeting the creative challenge of making a contribution to a new national identity. In the “Soul of Indonesia”, Dwiki has collaborated closely with Indonesian composer and guitarist Dewa Budjana, and Sa’at Syah (aka Sa’at Borneo), a traditional flute player and singer Dira.J.Sugandi (Dwiki Dharmawan)
